Following on from my last blog post,, where I talk about recently discovering I can run pretty long distances and that I want to train for a half marathon distance (21km). I decided it was easy to talk about it, but I really need a goal to work towards. So I've signed up for the Malaga half marathon on Dec 23.

Why Malaga? Well, it's obvious, really. It's Malaga! I could sign up for either the Belfast or Dublin ones. They are around Sept. But being Ireland, who really knows what the weather in Sept will be? And I'm not sure I'd be ready for Sept. Plus, both those places are in Ireland. And as much as I love Ireland, it's not, well, Spain.

The other reason is dates. The Malaga one is in December. So more time for training, more or less guaranteed perfect weather and finally, it's Malaga!

So that's it. Sorted. My place on the Malaga Half Marathon is booked, and I'm now in proper training.
